5 Different Uses for Cloth Wipes

Different Uses for Cloth Wipes

Cloth wipes are usually veered away from because of… well….. Poop. A lot of people can’t get over that that's what they are used for in a cloth diapering routine, but there are other uses including and excluding the ewwy “P” word. TThis post will let you know that those are not your only options and if those are the options you want there are tricks to keeping the poo a secret.. Shhhhhhhhh.

Scroll for the goods!

Reusable Baby Wipes

Of course this is the main reason people buy and use cloth wipes, but these are a great staple to a great cloth diapering routine. They can even be bleached if you get all white (personally I never needed to bleach). You keep them next to your diapers and you can either keep them wet or (what I recommend) getting a glass spray bottle and spray the wipes or bums before wiping with a cloth wipes solution that is gentle on the skin. Then you just throw them in a wash pail and then soak and wash on a regular cycle or with your cloth diapering products that need to be regularly cleaned also! If a

Surface cleaning wipes

Another great way to use these are to keep them in a basket for cleaning surfaces or in a wet jar for an easy wipe up. Using a water and Dr. Bronners solution would work well for a wet jar. How to do this is you roll them or lay them in a container and then pour the solution over the wipes and then put a lid over them for whenever you need to quickly wipe down those counters!

Solution Recipe:

Dr. Bronners bar soap (grate 2 tablespoons worth)

2 cups of water

Instructions:

Heat the water (does not need to be boiling)

Mix in the soap until dissolved

Let cool then pour over wipes

Paperless Towels

If the surface cleaning wipe is too time consuming or too much for you to worry about, you can also use these as paper towels where you can either use the solution recipe above in a spray bottle, or another cleaning solution, to spray down the counters and wipe away the mess with these bad boys! This allows for the wipes to be kept dry, which might be less messy or easier for some people. Keeping these handy in a basket or rolled up like…. Well….. Paper towels would make these an easy thing to store for cleaning!

Napkins

Because the sizes vary for the cloth wipes these are a great way to get those cute reusable napkins you’ve always wanted! These can just be laid into a basket on the table or put in a drawer for those sack lunches you are always trying to pack for you and maybe even your little ones! They work great for cleaning up those oat milk mustaches and also are soft on skin so they are nice and gentle to the face! Perfect for many napkins uses and you do not have to keep buying those napkins that just get thrown away anyways!

Food Wraps

When a reusable sandwich bag is not an option the bigger sizes of the cloth wipes are perfect for wrapping a sandwich or a food wrap! Just lay the sandwich or wrap in the cloth and then roll or flip until covered and then you can get a tie or even a rubber band (because let's be honest… we have millions from packaging and the grocery store) to keep the wrap tight around the sandwich or wrap to keep it fresh until lunch or dinner time!

Bidet Wipes

Now…. most will skip this…. And that is okay! But these work great paired with a bidet. Once you get a bidet and toilet paper starts to not be needed as much, these are a great replacement for those tiny bits of toilet paper that we use in order to dry our bums… eeeeeekkkkkk! I said bum!!! Yup, that's right, I did that! It is true though, this is the perfect way to keep your hygiene and be able to use the bidet. Since this is paired with a bidet there is no “unconventional” mess on the wipes to where you need to worry about being grossed out at laundry time. When that time comes just throw them in with a towel load and you won’t even be thinking about it! No worries about buying toilet paper either! You are better than that stuff! Whenever you are ready to switch these are a great way to bridge the gap!

Happy Wiping!
