Welcome To The Blog Campers!

Hi there friends, and welcome to the PNWN blog! This blog will be focusing on tips, tricks and handy information about ways to reduce waste; along with products to help you go green in many different aspects of your life! Some people may think that it’s a bit of a hassle to try to be eco-friendly. The reality is though, that going green isn’t about perfection… it’s about doing what you can within your means and doing the best you can at it!

My sister Shelby is the mastermind behind Pacific NW Natural, and I’m Emily (the faithful sidekick). Shelby started her zero waste journey a few years ago. She had always cared about the environment and was doing the basics; recycling, conserving energy where she could, etc. Then she started doing more research

into what is happening to our planet, and all of the different factors that have been a part of the deterioration of it. My sister realized that her children’s future was looking bleak, simply because our planet is dying. She knew that if she didn’t step up and do everything she could in her own life, she would regret it. Then came Pacific NW Natural, a way for her to make reusable, low waste products that could help her and others in their every day lives! On top of that, she has been researching on more ways to reduce waste and has been educating herself on environmental issues and how we can do our part to help the problem. Now she wants to share her knowledge, and what she’s learned through her business!

As for me, I have been slowly making changes in my life to lessen my carbon footprint for the past couple of years. When Shelby first started her business and told me what she was working towards, of course I was ecstatic for her! I obviously knew that global warming was a problem and that our planet was in trouble, but I had never looked too much into it, (mostly because I was scared of what I’d find). Over time, Shelby would explain to me more and more what was really going on with our Queen, Mother Earth, and where the issues were. She would suggest ways that I could make small changes for the greener good. Things such as switching to dryer balls instead of dryer sheets and switching to bar soaps rather than liquid soaps. Just little things that wouldn’t really inhibit my life at all, and would actually save me money while reducing waste. That only sounded like a win-win situation to me so I gave a lot of her suggestions a shot, and after that I was hooked! I realized that you didn’t have to expend a ton of your energy or money to make more eco-friendly decisions. More importantly, it’s made me more aware of what is really going on with our beautiful planet we call home. Now I want to put my best foot forward and do everything I personally can to reduce my family’s waste and spread the word to others, so they can maybe be willing to try and do the

same!

Together, we want to work towards a better planet for not only all of us here right now, but for our future generations. It’s absolutely understandable if you can’t switch your entire life over to zero-waste living right away, (believe me, I’m still working towards getting there myself). Just start with smaller things and work your way up! A great way to start would be trying to replace some of your every day necessities, (such as paper towels, facial rounds, sandwich bags, etc.)

with reusable products… which we just so happen to provide at Pacific NW Natural if you wanted to take a peek at our website. I had to at least write in one business promo, right? Regardless, even though it may be little changes, switching to reusable products in general, helps more than you may realize!

Thanks for stopping by to read, friends. Coming up in the next blog we will be talking about the top ten amazing eco life hacks that you absolutely HAVE to know! It will go more in-depth about the reusable options I’ve described previously, and some new ones that are pretty neat if I must say so myself. It may or may not change your life folks, so hold onto your hats! Stay safe out there everyone, and remember to be sweet to our Queen, Mother Earth.
